The slope should actually be three, because when factored out it would be y=3x-1, a y-intercept of -1 and a slope of three due to the three infront of the x in the equation.

Thanks for the tip. But it'sn't "factoring out" the equation. It's using the properties of addition and subtraction to rewrite the equation.
